Excessive Sweating Treatment
What is Excessive Sweating?
This condition occurs when your body produces more sweat than necessary to regulate its temperature. You might notice sweating even when you’re at rest, in cold environments, or unexpectedly during periods when sweating wouldn’t typically occur.
What are the types of Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)?
Primary Focal Hyperhidrosis:
It is a persistent skin condition characterized by excessive sweating. This condition is caused by a genetic mutation that can be inherited from your biological family, making it the most prevalent form of hyperhidrosis. Typically, it affects areas such as the armpits, hands, feet, and face, and commonly begins before the age of 25.
Secondary Generalized Hyperhidrosis:
It refers to excessive sweating triggered by an underlying medical condition or as a side effect of medication. Conditions such as diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, as well as certain medications, can lead to this type of hyperhidrosis. It may result in sweating during sleep.
